What we mark
Each material takes the beam differently, so each one gives a different mark. If you have something not on this list, send a photo — most hard surfaces can be tested on a scrap first.
Wood
Boards, boxes, coasters, plaques. Birch and maple hold fine detail; walnut gives the strongest contrast.
Dark burn, raised grain
Slate
Coasters, serving boards, desk pieces. Heavy in the hand, which is most of why people keep them.
Pale grey relief
Leather
Portfolios, valet trays, luggage tags, journal covers. Works on genuine and bonded leather alike.
Debossed, darkened edge
Coated metal
Tumblers, flasks, pens, plates. Powder-coated and anodized finishes take a crisp mark down to the base metal.

How it works
Four steps, in order — each one waits on the one before it. You approve a real engraved sample before we run the batch, so nothing gets produced that you haven't held first.

Send the brief
Your logo or artwork, roughly what you want it on, and how many. A rough count is fine at this stage.

Quote and proof
We price it and send a proof showing your artwork placed on the actual piece, at actual size.

Step 03
Approve a sample
On orders over 25 pieces we engrave one and ship it to you. Nothing else runs until you've said yes to it.

Step 04
Production
The batch is engraved, checked piece by piece, and packed. Local delivery in the DMV, or shipped anywhere.
